Anastyn's First T-ball Game

Anastyn is playing t-ball this summer and got to play in her first game this past Saturday. She was pretty excited about it until we arrived and she got her shirt. It was way too big for her liking and she was about to throw in the towel and not play. Her dad gave her a good little talk and then her best friend showed up and she decided she would at least give it a try! I am glad she did. Her team was at bat first and she decided she wasn't quite ready to hit, she stood there for some time and then hung her head and Nathan let the next kid know that they could go ahead. Then they ran out on the field and she was good from there on out. She of course played in the dirt, spun circles, faced the outfield while kids were batting, and had a really good time learning what t-ball is all about. Her second at bat, she hit the ball and got to run the bases and she thought that was pretty fun. Her helmet was huge though, so she held it the entire time she was running. We are pretty excited for her next game!

Anastyn "calling" her friends on the way to the game.
Warm up time with Daddy, she was a little uncertain at this point.

Taking it all in
I love this picture.

First at-bat....she wouldn't hit the ball. LOL, it was pretty cute, but she just wasn't ready yet to be out there in front of everyone.

Look at that girl, bare-handing  the ball already! (this looks like an action shot to some degree, it was just a loose ball though that she happened to pick up.)

So excited about getting to run the bases after her 2nd at-bat. She had a pretty good hit and  did a great job running the bases. (meaning she knew where first, second, and third bases are!)

The helmet is obviously way too big

Seriously....could she be any cuter?

It was a good first game and she was pretty excited  when it was all said and done

Just wants to be like the big girls!

Natalie's First Ponytail

I put Natalie's hair in a ponytail for the first time the other day. Goodness, when did this child get so old? She is getting so big and I thought she looked pretty cute in her ponytail. Here are a few pictures to commemorate her first "big girl' do'.

It won't be long, she will be able to get out this door by herself.

A ring on each hand, just checking out the birds.
Ok, last one, I promise!

Dinner Time Faces

Dinner time in our house can sometimes be quite difficult. Natalie doesn't feel like sitting in her high chair, Anastyn doesn't feel like sitting in her chair, Natalie only wants to eat your croutons not her sandwich, Ana doesn't feel like eating anything at all...unless it is peanut butter and jelly, we get distracted by cute bunnies outside on the back porch...the list goes on and on. Basically, these girls struggle to have a still moment in their day, which leads to many challenges at the table. They are so busy. ALL. THE . TIME! However, we have some really good meal times as well and one thing is for certain, these girls can crack each other up. This particular meal Natalie was making her best kissy face, which was making Anastyn laugh and try her hardest to copycat. They may not always end their meals with full bellies, but they usually have a lot of good laughs throughout the meal.

Shake Your Groove Thang!

We were getting ready to leave for church one Wednesday night and I was trying to get a picture of the girls. I had been playing music on the playbook all day, so it was still playing as I was trying to take my picture. I should know better. Both Anastyn and Natalie love to dance and can't resist a good song on the radio. I didn't get a picture of both girls together actually looking, but they were having a good time. Anastyn posed a couple times but pretty much danced the entire time! I love the look on her face as she is dancing. Natalie was pretty excited, too, and just kept running around Anastyn in circles. I really, really love these girls!

Ink Pen Mustaches

That's right, who can resist a nice ink-pen mustache. I guess they are just trying to be like their Papa's.

These girls love to get their hands on an ink pen. It doesn't matter how hard I try to hide them or keep them put away, one always surfaces and lands in the hands of a cute little girl! Natalie wasn't too happy about having this moment documented.

A day or so later, Anastyn happened upon an ink pen and decided she didn't want to be left out! She was much more willing to let me document her silly face.

No, they weren't really trying to have mustaches, but how do little ones ALWAYS end up with ink around their mouths. I assume Natalie was probably trying to chew on it, I have no clue how Anastyn managed to have ink all over! Oh, how we love these sweet, silly, girls!

Snow Day

A few weeks back when it was much colder out, we got a small amount if snow. Anastyn has been anxiously awaiting snow since Christmas. She reeeaaaally wants to build a snowman, but we decided there just wasn't enough snow this time to make our own Frosty. So we bundled up and made snow angels, crawled around, and took short rides around the yard on the sled.

Anastyn all bundled up and ready to get outside in the snow.
Not so excited about me taking her picture.

The girls waiting for me to release them into the snow.

Stomping around in the snow

Making snow angels
Natalie had a little trouble walking since I had her so bundled up so she just decided to crawl instead.

She actually really liked the snow...until she faceplanted in it.

It was fun, but too cold to be out in for too long, so we came back in
and made some nice warm hot chocolate!

Natalie's First Year

Originally, I was going to take this in the same place every month and see how she had grown and make this really awesome collage. It turned into just getting a picture wherever I could and hoping she would somewhat cooperate. But they are from each month and at least show how she changed over the year.

Where's Natalie?

For Christmas the girls received this cool easel from Santa. Marker board on one side, chalk on the other and a paper roll at the top to pull down for paintings.

However, Natalie discovered another use for this neat toy. As I was getting supper ready one night I look over to see Natalie has found a new hiding place. The girl just saw an opening and crawled right in. Now it's a fort!

Anastyn thought her sister was quite silly, but definitely wanted to check out this cool, new place to hang out.

So Anastyn climbed on in the other side and there my girls sat, giggling and playing with the markers that had fallen onto the tray they were sitting on.

Natalie absolutely LOVES to climb on, in, under, and around anything. She is always getting caught in small spaces when trying to squeeze her little self through. She almost got stuck the other day trying to crawl under the rung at the bottom of her high chair. Instead of just climbing over it she was sliding under, lol, it always makes me laugh.

And not to leave Anastyn out, since my posting has been quite slim lately, she is getting to be such a big girl. She is always dressing up and putting on shows for us. She loves to sing and dance. She also likes to help out around the house. She was sweeping the crumbs up for me the other day with her little hand broom. She loves her sister dearly and is always saying, "Mom, look at Natalie, she is so funny!", she loves that Natalie will now come give her a big hug and kiss before bed as well. She has been working on writing her letters, but prefers to "teach" me.

I promise, more posts to come. I really need to document some things on both girls!

Breaking the Silence

What better way to break the silence than with a little humor. This picture makes me burst out in laughter everytime I look at it. She was playing the other day and I said, "Smile for the camera," this is what I got. HAHA, I really hope that she grows out of this awkward smile, it could make for some rough wedding photography one day! LOVE these cute grins right now though!
