Pajama Party!

If any of you read my sister's blog, you have already read about Skylar's fifth birthday party. But here are my two cents worth. Anastyn and I went to Tulsa last weekend to join the fun. It is hard to believe Skylar is five already. I can remember like it was yesterday, Devin calling me in the middle of the night to tell me she was in labor. I was so excited! Unable to go back to sleep, I decided to get up and go to Wal-Mart and 3 o'clock in the morning to make a few baby purchases. Now I have a baby of my own and she loves her cousins as much as I do! Anastyn was awake for the beginning of the festivities but was quickly ready for a nap and slept through the biggest portion of the fun. However, before she went to bed we did get some pictures of her in her pj's with her cousins. I can't wait until next year when she is running around and able to play with the girls!

Crib Time

Last night (9/26) was Anastyn's first night sleeping all by herself in her crib. I have to admit I was a little sad. She has been sleeping in a bassinet by our bed since she was born and I love having her close to me. However, the night before last she did not sleep very well and I decided it may be because she is starting to outgrow the bassinet. So she slept all alone in her room in her big crib. She apparently loved it! She slept for 9 hours straight! I must say, it felt great to get that much sleep myself, even though I woke up a couple of times and had to check on her. I have no pictures for this post, but I do want to say how much I love this little girl. God has blessed us with a beautiful, healthy, happy baby. I can't ask for more than that. She lights up our home with her adorable smile and laughter. It is impossible to not smile back at her when you go to get her from her crib and she greets you with an enormous grin. And the noises that we will repeatedly make over and over again to her trying to get her to laugh out loud again after she did it once. I am so glad that such a wonderful little person can make life full and happy. We can't wait to watch her as she continually changes and grows!

Little Friends

Last week we got to visit with some friends from college. Brent, Dedra, and their son Cayden were in town for a lectureship in Collinsville. Although our visit was fairly short, it was good to catch up and spend some time with their little guy. He is such a cutie. I think he and Anastyn got along very well and will one day be good friends! I didn't get very many pictures, but here are a couple of the ones that I did get.

Cayden and Anastyn - He was definitely curious about her.

Relaxing in the Bath

I am probably the only person (besides her daddy) that think these pictures are so cute and a little funny. I was giving her a bath the other day and I had turned around for a moment, when I turned back around I saw my cute little girl lying her with her arms stretched out to both sides just enjoying her bath time. She stayed like this for quite some time, so of course, I had Nathan go get the camera. She does love her baths though. We sing and and splash, and she loves it when I pour water over her hair. She is even starting to not cry when I take her out. I think she likes having lotion rubbed on her. I get lots of smiles now.

Just relaxing.

The arms are starting to fade a little.

Still trying to relax with one arm stretched out.

Just a Little Visit

Just a couple of pics that I thought were cute. Mom and Dad came to visit a couple weeks ago. It was a beautiful day and we ran around town a little bit. I also took them to New Town to show them the quaint little community that I would love to live in!

Little Miss Scooter

In my last post I talked about Anastyn's new trick. She has learned how to push with her legs and lift her little bottom off the ground. That is how she sees the TV, but she also gets in this position, which does not look very comfortable to me, it doesn't seem to bother her. She is doing so great and thanks to those little legs getting stronger, she has also started pushing herself up on her side when she is on her tummy. I just can't tell you how much I love this little girl!

Potential TV Addict?

Anastyn loves to lay on the floor and play. We do this often during the day and we sing and talk to her. She kicks around and just recently has learned how to raise her little bottom off of the floor by pushing up with her legs. (Hopefully this is leading up to her learning how to roll over.) This seems to be one of her favorite things recently... aside from the television. Often, if she is lying on the floor and if the television is on, it takes all of her attention away from what we are doing. As you can see from the pictures below, even when she is not facing the tv, she finds a way to get a glimpse. And lucky for her, her new little trick with raising her bottom, helps her get over her boppy pillow just enough to tilt her head back for a better view. I think we might have a problem. She is definitely going to have to have limited tv time as she gets older!

Here she is lying on the floor with her head tilted back as far as she can to see the tv.

This is her newest, favorite way to watch if I have turned her away from the tv.

She finds a way!

She hates tummy time, but upside down time is something to love!

Who doesn't love a good show upside down once in a while?

What a Week!

Well, it all started last Friday night (Labor Day Weekend). We had gone to visit my sister in Tulsa, OK. We arrived late on Thursday night and all seemed to be well in the house. Earlier that day Londyn had come home sick from school though. But so far, so good. Friday, Londyn seemed to be feeling better, so we were all looking forward to a fun weekend. We went out to eat Friday night. As you can see from the pictures everyone was happy and healthy. We ate lots of food, took lots of pictures, and were thoroughly enjoying our time together. Then it hit. Kevin was first, then Skylar on Friday night. My sister, mother, and I all got sick on Saturday. We were feeling a little better as we headed home on Sunday, but before we arrived in St. Charles, Nathan was sick. So far, Anastyn was the only survivor. By Tuesday, everyone was feeling better and we were sure Anasytyn had miraculously made it through. However, on Wednesday she was quite fussy all day and as we were getting ready to leave for church, we realized she felt quite warm and was moaning quite a bit. We took her tempurature and got 100.3. Definitely high enough to call the doctor. We were told to take her to the ER, so about 8:40 we arrived in the ER. They got her tempurature as 102 degrees and so they had to get some blood work and gave her some Tylenol. They had trouble finding her little vein, so that took quite a while and she was not happy at all. They finally got an IV in and secured it very tightly with a little armboard and lots of tape. It looked so sad. They drew her blood and then she had to have spinal tap because her blood work came back high. Poor thing was put through the ringer that night. Luckily, her temperature came down and we were sent home around 1:00 am. She slept pretty well and we had a follow up appointment with her doctor on Thursday. She is now back to normal and all of her cultures came back negative which is really good. She luckily missed the vomiting and diahrrea. Thank Goodness! Here are a few pictures of her with my family before it all hit.

I thought she looked pretty cute in her little headband.

Little Girl in a Big Bed

Anastyn has just recently started taking naps in her crib. As you can see it looks absolutely huge with her in it, or she looks tiny, whichever way you want to look at it. But either way, I thought it was cute so, of course, here are some pictures. I really love her crib and I am glad that she has taken well to it. I guess she is going to have to start sleeping here overnight very soon. I have the feeling she is going to quickly outgrow her bassinet.
